Effect of EGCG on cell DNA damage. Lymphocytes () were treated with EGCG (0, 22.5, 45, and 90 μM) for 6 h first and then cultured in media with (model) or without (normal control) H2O2 (80 μM) for an additional 4 h. The oxidative DNA damage in cells was estimated with apurinic/apyrimidinic sites (AP sites). The number of AP sites was measured using a DNA damage quantification kit based on calorimetric assay.
