Oxidative Stress and Dementia in Alzheimer’s Patients: Effects of Synbiotic Supplementation

<div>Superoxide anion, hydrogen peroxide, peroxynitrite/hydroxyl radical, and nitric oxide levels measured by specific biomarkers commonly used to evaluate ROS (DHE, DCF, HPF, and DAF staining, respectively). Records of ROS production were made before and after 90 days of the probiotic supplementation. Note a marked recovery of the ROS imbalance after the treatment.
