Ascorbate Attenuates Oxidative Stress and Increased Blood Pressure Induced by 2-(4-Hydroxyphenyl) Amino-1,4-naphthoquinone in Rats

<div>Effect of ascorbate and Q7 on the production of H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> in vascular smooth muscle cells (A7r5). The data shows the H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> generation in the presence of ascorbate and Q7 in A7r5 cells (a) and the effect of increasing doses of ascorbate on H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> generation (b). Ascorbate increased significantly the generation of H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> in a dose-dependent manner in A7r5 cells, while Q7 did not cause any change. Values are mean ± standard error of the mean of 3 experiments.
