Protective Effects of a Polyphenol-Rich Extract from Syzygium cumini (L.) Skeels Leaf on Oxidative Stress-Induced Diabetic Rats

Antioxidant activity of PESc. The antioxidant capacity of PESc as well as the pure standards was determined by using DPPH (a) and ABTS (b) assays. In both cases, the concentration of extract or fractions leading to a decrease of 50% of initial activity (IC50) was determined (c). Data shown are representative of at least three independent experiments, performed by triplicate for each condition, and expressed as the mean ± SEM.
