The ERK-MAPK cascade is involved in palmitate-induced myostatin expression in skeletal muscle cells. C2C12 myotubes were incubated with either 0.5 mM palmitate in the presence or in the absence of 100 μM PD98059 or with 10 μM parthenolide. Analysis of the protein levels of myostatin was analyzed by western blot assay. Data are expressed as means ± SD of 6 different experiments. ### versus vehicle, *** versus palmitate.
