Immunohistochemical analysis was used to show the expression of P16-positive cells in oropharyngeal cancer (magnification: ×400); nuclear and cytoplasmic positivity were classified as positive reactions and were scored as (a) diffuse (>80% of the cells were stained); (b) focal (small cell clusters, but <80% of the cells were positive); (c) sporadic (isolated cells were positive but <5%); (d) negative (<1% of cells were positive).
