Effect of Cd2+ on the Ca2+ response of the cells to a 150 ns pulse. Results are plotted as the averaged cell responses ± SE for cells exposed to a 150 ns pulse at 3.1 kV/cm in the absence and presence of 200 μM Cd2+. Cells were pretreated for 30 min with Cd2+ before exposure. The arrow indicates when the pulse was delivered to the cells ( 8–11).
