Expanded CD133+ Cells from Human Umbilical Cord Blood Improved Heart Function in Rats after Severe Myocardial Infarction
Figure 2
Echocardiographic evaluations revealed better-preserved hearts in the group of animals transplanted with expanded CD133+ cells. Comparison of left ventricular end-systolic volume (a), left ventricular end-diastolic volume (b), left ventricular end-systolic area (c), and left ventricular end-diastolic (d) within each group pretreatment and posttreatment. The results are presented as the mean (point in the box) with the standard error (stripped boxes) and standard deviation (lines). Control = control group, injected with isotonic saline solution (sodium chloride 0.9%). Purified = transplanted with purified CD133+ cells. Expanded = transplanted with expanded CD133+ cells. The values of each comparison are shown on top of the boxes.
