Virtual Reality Based Education with Mobile Device Platform
Description
Virtual reality based education has the potential for great impact to the enhancement of learners’ motivation, engagement, immersion, satisfaction, and transfer of learning. A number of recent research efforts have provided invaluable insights toward understanding and applying virtual reality from a multidisciplinary point of view. In recent years, virtual reality based education is being rapidly expanded in various areas such as medical education, military training, special education, and manufacturing companies. Given the learners’ needs for portable learning devices, researchers have begun to integrate virtual reality into mobile devices for educational purpose that maximize the accessibility and the potential of these new learning platforms.
This special issue is soliciting high quality research papers addressing research achievements, practices, theoretical framework, and challenges for virtual reality based education platform with mobile device. Original research articles are welcomed in all aspects of including innovative technical developments, theoretical and experimental studies, and practical applications, review articles of the current state-of-the-art, prototype development, and evaluation.
