Description

The use of blockchain technology is devising exceptional opportunities to lessen complexity and organize secure, immutable, and wide-ranging information systems in the health care ecosystem. Shaping a prospective blockchain framework for regulating early adoption and innovative research in order to revamp healthcare is the predominant interest all over the world. Blockchain networks can preserve privacy when exchanging patient data and data efficiency, precisely classify serious mistakes, analyze medical records, manage scams in clinical trials, provide insurance information storage, and much more. These uses can improve stability within the medical field and compete with traditional modern and creative health services to better support the healthcare culture.

Research has found that blockchain applications range significantly in health care and other upcoming areas. Nevertheless, the configurations and interactions over large-scale health care service providers are to be remodeled for complex operations. Despite the disparate additional benefits associated with blockchain applications for healthcare, there are some major concerns that need to be investigated and addressed. These concerns include diverse management standards, appropriate security measures, efficient technology manipulation, and other legal challenges. Blockchain techniques and current technologies in health systems intend to assist with issues of security, privacy, and interoperability of health data.

The aim of this Special Issue is to address the increased demand for blockchain and its applications widely used in healthcare security and privacy issues, its complications and potentialities, and the steps to systematize protection mechanisms, in line with the healthcare industry’s preference for carrying out recent and evolving health service models. Original research and review articles are welcomed.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Blockchain security algorithms and models for health data transferring, anti-tampering, and data leakage prevention
  • Blockchain and distributed analytics applications in healthcare services
  • Current research on healthcare cybersecurity with passwordless authentication models and services
  • Intelligent design and blockchain techniques for smart healthcare services and privacy data-driven innovations
  • Blockchain technology for secure control and privacy frameworks for healthcare data applications
  • Improvement in blockchain secure structure for managing data breaches and severe fallouts
  • The blockchain-based intelligent medical system with IoT for enhancing secure system expandability
  • Impacts of blockchain in security challenges and privacy in mobile health systems
  • Blockchain-based planning new models and securing real-time transformation in healthcare
  • Applications of blockchain and predictive modeling in secured medical and genomic data for the opportunities of precision medicine
