Hepatic and Renal Toxicity Induced by TiO₂ Nanoparticles in Rats: A Morphological and Metabonomic Study

(a) Characterization (size and shape) of TiO₂ NPs aggregates performed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The mean size of aggregates was calculated by morphometric analysis performed on 20 microscopic fields picked at random (n ≥ 100 aggregates). Mean nanoparticle size evaluated by this method was 34 ± 9 nm. (b) The DLS analysis indicated that the mode and dispersion around the mode of nanoparticles was 52 ± 15 nm.
