Choline Deficiency Attenuates Body Weight Gain and Improves Glucose Tolerance in ob/ob Mice

Choline-deficient diet attenuates body weight gain and enhances adipose lipolytic capacity. 8-week-old male ob/ob mice had free access to either CD or CS diets for 2 months. Body weight gain (a), tissue weight (b), epididymal and perirenal fat weight (c), and fat mass and lean mass (d) were measured. The protein expression of phospho- and total-hormone sensitive lipase in adipose tissue was assayed by immunoblotting (e). The fat pad sections were stained with H & E (f). ^∗∗𝑃<0.01 and ^∗𝑃<0.05 when compared to CS group.
