Immunological Effects of Environmental Factors: Focus on the Fibrous and Particulated Materials
Description
Environmental factors are very important contributors to consider with various diseases such as cancers, autoimmune diseases, allergy, and occupational and lifestyle-related diseases. Among various biological effects, immunological disruption is one of the most important one. When environmental agents enter into the body, all local immune response systems are set in motion and local systems, as well as general immune systems, are starting to work to prevent disease development. However, in some cases, the collapse of these systems may occur causing development of serious diseases. We are interested in articles that explore all aspects of the immunological effects of various environmental factors/substances. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Cellular and molecular mechanisms of immune system response to environmental substances
- Novel prophylaxis of immune-related diseases caused by environmental factors
- Immunological effects of old and new environmental factors such as nanoparticles, asbestos, and silica
- Preventive methods for environmental diseases using immunological modulation
- Immune therapy for environmental diseases
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/cdi/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/cdi/ieef/ according to the following timetable:
