The relationship between the nuclear area and the DNA content (IOD) per each cell nucleus in: (a) a typical sample of presenescence phase and (b) the comparison of the latter and a sample in the degeneration phase. It is seen that the nuclear size is increasing roughly proportionally to the DNA content in the presenescence phase, while in the degeneration phase, the nuclear size is much larger indicating to nuclear swelling.
