Green Analytical Methods and Nanomaterials for Sample Preparation 2021

This issue is now closed for submissions.

Description

The development of green methods is of great importance for analytical science, as the impact and role of green methods are rapidly increasing within numerous analytical techniques. Capillary electrophoresis (CE), microfluidics, and sensors, which can be powerful tools for determining various chemicals in different matrixes, can all be included as green methods. This is due to their consumption of only a small amount of solvents, reagents, and samples.

However, green methods are challenged by an insufficient level of sensitivity. Therefore, pre-treatment of analytical samples is necessary. The application of nanomaterials for sample preparation could be used to enhance sensitivity as well as selectivity in green analytical methods. Green analytical methods with sample preparation by nanomaterials have the potential to attract much attention from the field.

The aim of this Special Issue is to collect original research discussing green analytical methods. Submissions including the application of nanomaterials for sample preparation in environmental engineering, food technology, chemical analysis, adsorption, catalysis, sensors, clinical analysis, and membrane technology are encouraged. Review articles are also welcome, especially those describing related topics involving different low-cost, green analytical methods with sample preparation using nanomaterials. We also hope that this Special Issue discusses the application of green analytical methods within analytical science and technology.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Low-cost and green analytical methods (e.g., CE, microfluidics, sensors, and other related techniques)
  • Green methods for physicochemical analysis, environmental technology, adsorption, catalysis, and biomedicine
  • Portable methods for quick analysis related to the environment, food, and clinical concerns
  • Low-cost separation and purification methods for emerging contaminants analysis
  • Application of low-cost and green methods for surface and interface analysis
  • New applications of nanomaterials in food safety, medicine, pharmaceutics, and environmental aspects
  • Nanomaterials for renewable and green energy
  • Biochar for environmental technology
  • Application of nanomaterials in sample preparation or other related fields
