The Compatible Solute Ectoine Reduces the Exacerbating Effect of Environmental Model Particles on the Immune Response of the Airways
Figure 1
Lung inflammation induced by increasing doses of CNP. Female C57/Bl6 mice (8 weeks old) were exposed once to the indicated dose of CNP suspended in PBS. Animal numbers were 0 mg/kg , 2.5 mg/kg , 5 mg/kg , and 10 mg/kg . Inflammation parameters were determined 24 h after exposure. (a) Total number of cells per mL BAL; (b) total number of neutrophilic granulocytes per mL BAL; (c) total number of macrophages and monocytes per mL BAL; (d) pg/mL of KC in BAL. , correlation coefficient of Pearson correlation; , two sided significance; nd, not detectable.
