Phylogenetic tree based on distance matrix analysis of COI gene sequences from R. rattus and R. tanezumi based on the Hasegawa-Kishino-Yano model with 1,000 bootstrap support values. The analysis involved 22 nucleotide sequences whereby 9 sequences were derived from this study and the remaining from the NCBI database. All positions containing gaps and missing data were eliminated. There were a total of 598 positions in the final dataset.
