Environmental Photocatalysis
Description
Photocatalytic technology has been demonstrated to be one of the “green” and effective strategies for the environmental remediation. Therefore, environmental photocatalysis, including air purification, water disinfection, hazardous waste remediation, water purification, deodorization, antibacterial, and self-cleaning, has caused more and more attention in recent years. However, owing to low photocatalytic efficiency, the environmental applications of various photocatalytic technologies are still very limited. Thus, more investigations are highly required from the viewpoint of practical use.
To achieve this purpose, we cordially invite investigators to contribute their original research articles as well as review articles that stimulate the continuing efforts to understand the environmental remediation by photocatalytic technology. We are particularly interested in articles describing the synthetic methods of new photocatalytic materials, photocatalytic applications for waste treatment, air purification, antibacterial and antiviral properties, photocatalytic mechanism, recent developments in both experimental and theoretical aspects, and technological applications. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Recent advances in the environmental photocatalysis
- Preparation and modification of photocatalytic materials
- Design of novel/new photocatalytic materials
- Characterization of photocatalysts
- Activation, deactivation, and regeneration of photocatalytic materials
- Photocatalytic decomposition of organic substances
- Photocatalytic antibacterial and antiviral properties
- Photocatalytic anticorrosion and antifog properties
- Photocatalytic deodorization and self-cleaning effect
- Photocatalytic removal of toxic metallic ions
- Combination technology of environmental photocatalysis and energy photocatalysis
