Cleft lip and palate care provided by otolaryngologist is becoming increasingly more prevalent. The care of these patients requires a multidisciplinary approach that involves multiple team members including audiologists, dentists, geneticists, speech pathologists, and otolaryngologists. Each facet of the care of these patients is complex and interdependent. Part of the care of these patients involves communicating advances in the care of these patients.

The main focus of this special issue will be to provide an opportunity for specialists in every aspect of the care of cleft lip and palate field to present novel research. We hope to include an international perspective of cleft care from ear disease, speech development, dental care, surgical techniques, and novel therapies.
