Pediatric Nephrology

Description

Pediatric Nephrology covers a large field of medical developments, including genetics, care strategies, and renal preservation. Most of the pediatric kidney diseases are congenital, some of them familial with a precise heredity. Growing, the children will be adult patients emphasizing the importance of better knowledge by the nephrologist of this kidney disease, to optimize transition from pediatric to adult care. The main focus of this special issue will be on topics including, but are not limited to:

  • Kidney and mitochondrial deficits
  • Congenital tubulopathies: cystinosis, nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, and Bartter syndromes
  • Nephrolithiasis: oxalosis
  • Hemolytic and uremic syndrome: new developments in pathogenesis and treatment
  • Nephrotic syndrome: from the split diaphragm to the treatments
  • Renal osteodystrophy and CKD in children
  • Renoprotection in CKD
  • Growth and outcome in children on CKD
  • From kids to adult: transition nephrology
  • Optimal dialysis for children: a unique choice
  • Nephrological aspects of enuresis and bladder dysfunction
