This contamination needs sufficient control to protect the natural water bodies. There are various methodologies to be followed to perform wastewater treatment, in which the adsorption method of filtration is found to be efficient. The adsorption method is a high priority and preferable filtration method compared to other waste water treatment methods due to its peculiar characteristics. Considering the adsorption method, there are multiple options available in selecting material and methodology for the filtration process. In selecting the filtering material, there is much attraction towards graphene and its oxides, which have widespread range of differential applications in commercial industries because of their eco-friendly characteristic features. The importance of various graphene composites and their chemical properties is found to be significant in various fields. Analyzing the adsorbing properties of graphene widely, this article deeply reviews about the improvements and the technologies identified for using graphene and (GO) graphene oxide in wastewater treatment taken into discussion elaborately. Therefore, in this hard review, the advantages and demerits of using graphene for wastewater treatment as well as improving its properties to make it more suitable for wastewater treatment are detailed.
