TerpenoidsLiebermann–Burchard test: a few drops of sulphuric acid were added to 1 ml of the plant extract, and the formation of a brown ring at the junction and red colour in the upper layer confirms the presence of terpenoids.[22]

SaponinsFrothing test: plant extract was treated with distilled water in a tube and shaken well. The formation of stable froth confirms the presence of saponins.[23]
