LTE Technology: Antenna, RF Front-Ends, and Channel Modeling

Description

Mobile communications are more and more involved in our daily life. The long term evolution (LTE) standard is proposed to provide high data rate due to the exploding demands for faster communication nowadays. It has dramatically driven the technology advances in wireless communication systems.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles and review articles on antenna and RF front-ends design as well as wireless channel modeling for LTE. We are particularly interested in articles describing novel antennas with low-profile, high tunability, and multiband/wideband operation; advances in integrated antennas, for example, antenna-in-package and antenna-on-chip; novel codesign techniques to combine antenna and other components in front-ends, for example, filtering antenna and band-notched antenna; multiband/wideband dielectric and waveguide filter/multiplexer; advances in packaging and fabrication techniques for compact front-ends, for example, LTCC technology; advances in electromagnetic and multiphysics modeling techniques.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Low-profile, tunable, and multiband antenna for LTE
  • Antenna integration technology (e.g., antenna-in-package and antenna-on-chip) for LTE
  • Antenna array and leaky-wave antenna for LTE
  • MIMO antenna and front-ends for LTE
  • Advances in feeding networks for LTE antenna
  • Compact, reconfigurable, and multiband/wideband filter for LTE
  • Dielectric and waveguide filter/multiplexer for LTE
  • Active integrated filter and antenna for LTE
  • Applications of metamaterial for the front-ends in LTE
  • Codesign techniques for antenna and RF front-ends in LTE
  • Fabrication and packaging technology for LTE system
  • Nanoelectromagnetic applications to LTE
  • Electromagnetic and multiphysics modeling for LTE systems
  • Wireless channel modeling for LTE communication
  • Communication solution for LTE system in complex environment
  • Advances in antenna array processing for LTE
