A 3D realization of the pore structure that can be used to construct a pore network (from http://corelab.com). Such pore network provides a reasonable approximation of the real rock sample. It can be used to determine many of the important parameters relevant to the macroscopic core sample (e.g., porosity, absolute permeability, and relative permeability).
