Plasma glucose concentrations are presented as mean ± SEM (mmol/L), N = number of patients; the Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to assess differences in the means of the plasma glucose concentration of each group before and after treatment; *𝑃<0.05. The non-parametric Mann-Whitney test was used to compare the difference in hypoglycemic activity between the two independent groups, 𝑃>0.05.
