Ganoderma tsugae Extract Inhibits Growth of HER2-Overexpressing Cancer Cells via Modulation of HER2/PI3K/Akt Signaling Pathway

Figure 1

Effect of GTE on cell proliferation in HER2-overexpressing cancer cells. (a) SKOV-3 cells were treated with 0.5% methanol (vehicle control) or various concentrations of GTE (0.1, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, and 1 mg/mL) for 72 h. Cell proliferation was measured using the MTT assay as described in Section 2. (b) SKOV-3 cells were treated with either vehicle control or GTE (0.1, 0.5, or 1.0 mg/mL) for 0.5, 1, 2, and 3 days. Cell numbers were determined using trypan blue staining. The parental SKOV-3 cells were not treated with vehicle (0.5% methanol) or GTE. (c) SKOV-3 cells were treated with different doses of GTE (0.25 and 0.5 mg/mL) twice a week for 3 weeks in the soft agar colony formation assay as described in Section 2. (d) SKOV-3 cells were treated with various concentrations of taxol (1, 10, 100, and 1000 ng/mL) or cisplatin (2.5, 5, 10, and 20 μg/mL) with or without GTE (0.25 mg/mL) for 72 h. Cell proliferation was determined by MTT assay. The results are expressed as the mean ± SD of three independent experiments. ; .
