Effects of Thymol and Carvacrol, Constituents of Thymus vulgaris L. Essential Oil, on the Inflammatory Response

Ear edema induced by thymol (10 mg/ear). The animals ( ) were treated with indomethacin (Indo) (5 mg/Kg, v.o.) or promethazine (PTZ) (5 mg/Kg, i.p.) 60 minutes beforethe thymol application. The croton oil (CO) was used for positive control. The ear edema was determined in 30, 60, 120, 180, and 240 minutes after inflammatory stimuli.
