The NO, VEGF, and GM-CSF secretion by EPCs in the four groups was showed as follows. (a) The NO secretion by EPCs in postmenopausal women was lower than that in premenopausal women. No difference in NO secretion by EPCs between control and hyperhomocysteinemia premenopausal women was found. However, the NO secretion level in hyperhomocysteinemia postmenopausal women was lower than that in control. (b) There was no significant difference in VEGF secretion by EPCs between the four groups.
