Liver biopsy (a, b) and explanted liver (c, d) show marked hepatitis that demonstrates progression from the biopsy time point to the explant. Panel a (Hematoxylin and Eosin) shows marked hepatitis with swollen hepatocytes, compared to the explant (panel c, Hematoxylin and Eosin), where most of the swollen hepatocytes are no longer visible while active inflammation persists.
