Electrophysiological mechanisms underlying ventricular arrhythmias from hypoxia and hypercapnia [23]. Decreased partial pressure of oxygen, increased partial pressure of carbon dioxide, and decreased pH lead to reduced ATP, reduced upstroke velocity, and increased ROS.
