Three tissue types of distinct radiodensitometric domains were utilized for the purposes of this study as follows: to −10, to 40, and to 200 HU representing, respectively, fat (yellow), loose connective tissue and atrophic muscle (cyan), and normal muscle (red). Note that the fat voxel elements of the right (healthy) muscle of this patient were almost entirely superficial (visible on the surface of the segmentation model).
