Concept of integrating nanotechnology into ¹²⁹Xe NMR/MRI. The high specificity and sensitivity for hp ¹²⁹Xe is paired with optimized host designs to improve Xe loading and gas exchange. The implemented solutions comprise both synthetic as well as biogenic host structures; the latter ones also include options for multivalent hosts that bind many thousand Xe atoms.
