Neonatal Lung Disease and Respiratory Failure
Description
Neonatal lung disease and respiratory failure are common conditions in neonates. Causes of lung disease and respiratory failure are divers and are often associated with maternal pathology, prematurity, and congenital anomalies. Many of these infants have an increased risk of developing chronic lung disease. Better knowledge and understanding of the pathophysiology of lung disease have led to the development of more effective and safe therapies for both acute and chronic lung disease.
We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to understand the neonatal lung, the pathophysiology of lung diseases, the development of strategies to treat these conditions, the and evaluation of outcomes. Potential topics include, but not limited to:
- Pulmonary physiology in the delivery room
- Lung inflammation and infection
- Acute and chronic lung disease
- Respiratory failure
- Lung hypoplasia and malformations
- Congenital diaphragmatic hernia
- Respiratory support
