Long-Term Voluntary Physical Exercise Exerts Neuroprotective Effects and Motor Disturbance Alleviation in a Rat Model of Parkinson’s Disease

<div>Study design for long-term effects of exercise training in 6-OHDA-induced PD rats. The performance of exercise intervention and sham control rats was assessed every day before the PD lesion and also after 8 successive weeks. Behavioral tests including the rotational behavior test, bar test for akinesia, gait test, and open-field test were performed to investigate time course treatment effects.</div>
