Toxicology of Metals and Metalloids

Description

Although some metals and metalloids are in the top of the priority list of hazardous substances of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), the mechanisms involved in their toxicity, after single or combined exposure, are not well known. In an attempt to contribute to fill this gap, we are inviting original research articles and reviews for this special issue. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Molecular mechanisms of toxicology of metals and metalloids
  • Analytical methods for metal and metalloid determination in biological matrices
  • Speciation analysis in toxicology
  • Biomonitoring
  • Reproductive and developmental toxicology of metals
  • Metal carcinogenesis
  • Interaction among metals and metalloids
  • In silico studies
  • Neurotoxicology and cardiovascular toxicology associated to metal exposure
  • Effects of metal exposure in the workplace
  • Gene/environment interactions
  • Omics tools in toxicology of metals

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/bmri/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/bmri/toxicology/tmm/ according to the following timetable:
