The Mechanism of Melanocytes-Specific Cytotoxicity Induced by Phenol Compounds Having a Prooxidant Effect, relating to the Appearance of Leukoderma

Figure 8

Effect of rhododendrol (RD) on the intracellular hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) level of B16F10 melanoma cells. After B16F10 cells were treated with 5.0 mM RD and raspberry ketone (RK) for 15 min, the intracellular H2O2 level of the cells was measured by Amplite fluorimetric hydrogen peroxide assay kit “Red Fluorescence.” The black columns indicate the averaged intracellular H2O2 levels in B16F10 treated with 5.0 mM RD and RK. The lines on the columns show the standard deviations (). One () and two () asterisks indicate that the probabilities of significance levels are less than 0.05 () and 0.01 (), respectively.
