The SARS-CoV-2 UTR’s Intrudes Host RBP’s and Modulates Cellular Splicing

Overexpression of SARS-CoV-2 5′UTR and 3′UTR in HEK293T cells: cells were transfected with plasmid pcDNA3.1 encoding either 5′UTR or 3′UTR of SARS-CoV-2. Total RNA was extracted using Trizol reagent. The overexpression was validated by RT-PCR using 5′UTR and 3′UTR specific primers (lanes 6 and 7). Lane 4 depicts a positive control in PCR reaction where pcDNA3.1 constructs having 5′UTR or 3′UTR were used (Table 1).
