About this Journal

Advances in Tribology publishes papers on the science of friction, wear, and lubrication. Topics covered include investigations into contact mechanics, wear and damage processes, surface and coating engineering, and lubrication technology. Submissions covering all aspects of tribology research are considered, and practical investigations supported by theoretical models are especially welcomed.

As well as original research, Advances in Tribology also publishes focused review articles that examine the state of the art, identify emerging trends, and suggest future directions for developing fields.
