Advanced Catalysis and Reaction Technology in Polymer Synthesis

Description

The development of polymer synthesis through the use of advanced technologies has attracted great attention from both academia and industry. Catalysis has been identified as the most important technique in different kinds of polymerizations, especially coordination polymerization, atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer polymerization (RAFT), ring-opening polymerization (ROP), photoinduced polymerization, and chemoselective polymerization. Meanwhile, emerging reaction technologies, including but not limited to microflow technique, microwave chemistry, and mechanochemical transformation, have achieved significant advantages in synthetic polymer chemistry, which cannot be done via traditional reactions.

The aim of this special issue is to collect both original research and review articles focused on the recent progress of novel catalysis and reaction techniques in polymer synthesis. We encourage submissions on all kinds of polymerizations that employ advanced technologies, as well as review articles that describe the current state of the art in the related fields.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordination polymerization
  • Living/controlled radical polymerization
  • Ring-opening polymerization
  • Photoinduced polymerization
  • Chemoselective polymerization
  • Microflow polymerization
  • Microwave-assisted polymerization
  • Mechanochemical polymerization
