LiDAR-Based Windshear Detection via Statistical Features

LiDAR radial velocity (knots) images collected at HKIA in PPI mode with elevation and slant ranges, where positive radial velocities (brown/yellow/orange/pink) are away from LiDAR and negative radial velocities (green/blue/purple) are toward the LiDAR. Each scan takes about 20–30 seconds. 400–500 beams are emitted to obtain one scan. Due to the complex terrain near HKIA, data with good quality are not available at a high slant range (blank sectors).
