The mean model skill over each lead time with regard to location prediction for different extrapolation models and sinuosity conditions. Please note that the very low skill values of the DIS-based models at 5-minute lead time (in the winding and twisted groups) are hidden by the scaling of the y-axis. At five-minute lead time, both models only have a skill of about 0.35 (winding) and −0.55 (twisted).
