Neutrino Physics

Description

Neutrino physics has provided the most impressive progress in our understanding of particle physics in the last years. These advances are of primary relevance for a better description of neutrino properties, and presumably they also contain profound implications in the general picture of fundamental interactions and their connections with astrophysics and cosmology. The central role of neutrinos is even more evident when considering that neutrino masses require physics beyond the standard theory. At present, however, we do not have a clear picture of such new physics and its energy scale.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing advance of knowledge in this field and the prospects and strategies for the next future. We are interested in articles describing all facets of this broad field, being experimentally developed with both terrestrial accelerators and astroparticle sources, studies in underground laboratories, and the theoretical scenario. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Are neutrinos Dirac or Majorana particles?
  • Neutrinoless double-beta decay
  • Absolute neutrino masses
  • Neutrino mass spectrum
  • Origin of neutrino masses and mixings
  • CP violation
  • Leptogenesis in the Universe
  • Long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments
  • Sterile neutrinos?
  • Short-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments
  • Atmospheric neutrinos
  • Solar neutrinos
  • Reactor neutrinos
  • Geoneutrinos
  • Supernovae neutrinos
  • Cosmic neutrinos
  • Neutrinos in cosmology
  • Electromagnetic properties of neutrinos
  • Neutrino interactions
  • Future neutrino facilities and laboratories

Authors should communicate to any of the Guest Editors, by January 1st, 2012, the intention to submit an article and its subject.

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ahep/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/ according to the following timetable:
