Comparisons of Brightness Temperatures of Landsat-7/ETM+ and Terra/MODIS around Hotien Oasis in the Taklimakan Desert

<table>Examples of the surface and underground temperature together with the near surface air temperature distribution at 10:30 and 11: 00 local time. The data at 10:30 were acquired at a flat area with sparsely grown short tamalix and reed while those of 11:00 were acquired at the top of a small sand dune of several meters height with scarcely grown short reed in Taklimakan Desert. The height of both places is 1200 m above sea level.</table>
