Effect of pH at room temperature (26 ± 2°C) on the activity of AChE from rat brain was observed by carrying out the enzyme assay employing 100 g protein at different pH of different buffers (sodium acetate buffer for pH 3.6 and 5.0, sodium phosphate buffer for pH 6.37 and 7.4, and carbonate buffer for pH 9.2 and 10.0) as described in Section 2. The enzyme was stored in phosphate buffer (50 mM, pH 7.4) containing 0.2% Triton X-100.
