TY - JOUR A2 - Brinks, Elias AU - de Blok, W. J. G. PY - 2010 DA - 2009/11/25 TI - The Core-Cusp Problem SP - 789293 VL - 2010 AB - This paper gives an overview of the attempts to determine the distribution of dark matter in low surfacebrightness disk and gas-rich dwarf galaxies, both through observations and computer simulations. Observationsseem to indicate an approximately constant dark matter density in the inner parts of galaxies, whilecosmological computer simulations indicate a steep power-law-like behaviour. This difference has becomeknown as the “core/cusp problem,” and it remains one of the unsolved problems in small-scale cosmology.
