The dashed lines show the mass function for subhalos with and kpc (the same range of luminosities and distances as for the observed satellites) with luminosities assigned using (4). I have excluded the two most luminous objects from the model luminous satellites to account for the fact that SMC and LMC are not included in the observational sample and one additional object to account for noninclusion of the Sagittarius dwarf in the comparison.
